About

I am a lawyer who has worked at a medium sized firm and is now solo. I have worked closely on committees with lawyers and other professionals from all sizes of firms all over Australia.

This blog has 2 initial goals which I am sure will be modified as it develops:

1. To start a discussion about small firm and solo professional life (whether as a lawyer, accountant or any other service professional)

2. To link to resources for small firm and solo professionals in Australia.

I appreciate feedback unless it is offensive or defamatory of me or a third party. If you leave a comment you must identify yourself. I reserve the right to edit or delete any comment left on this site.

DISCLAIMER : This blog is not legal advice. I am not your lawyer.

Although I’m in the U.S. you might enjoy my blog on solo practice.

I understand your wanting people who leave comments to identify themselves. I’m wondering whether your not identifying yourself is deliberate or just part of the learning curve about using this blog platform. I understand that some people have professional reasons for not identifying themselves as authors of blogs. It just makes any meaningful dialogue too challenging a prospect.

Being anonymous has both positive and negative features.

On the negative side is that readers may not view me as being accountable for what I say and therefore, as you say, unwilling to enter a dialogue.

On the positive side was my original reason for anonymity: I had intended to make innovative (controversial?) comments about professional service firm billing practices and service delivery which may affect me professionally.

At this stage (as my thoughts develop) I’ll stay anonymous.

Good luck, on your blog and practice. We truly are a global community. We work with a lot of small firms, getting them known, liked and trusted in their target markets – yes, thats right. We do public relations. There is a lot of educational material on the blog: Profiting With Public Relations. I’m a firm believer that less is more and your blog is doing that.

    Cheers,

    Paramjit
